Soča

Soča

In 2014, we decided to conclude an intense kayaking season with a unique trip to Slovenia. Together with friends from AKTK Bystrze, we set out for the famous emerald Soča, surrounded by the picturesque peaks of the Julian Alps. To our surprise, we ran into friends from Poznań! We quickly joined forces and paddled several stretches of the Soča and its tributary, the Koritnica, together.

Soča, known for its crystal-clear, turquoise waters, is one of the most beautiful places for whitewater kayaking in Europe. The river offers a variety of sections, ranging from calmer stretches ideal for less experienced paddlers to more technical, challenging sections for advanced kayakers.

Koritnica is slightly less known but equally enchanting. It flows through gorges and canyons, making it perfect for those seeking challenges in a more intimate setting. Together, Soča and Koritnica create a unique area for adventure lovers, filled with the beauty of the wild nature of the Julian Alps, tranquility, and a close connection to nature.
